On July 17, a meeting was held at the Cooperation Lab—an intersectoral cooperation center under Uzavtosanoat—in Tashkent's Bektemir district. This initiative aligns with the strategic goals set by the President of Uzbekistan to deepen localization, expand intersectoral cooperation, and optimize imports.
The meeting was attended by Odil Temirov, Chairman of the Board of Uzkimyosanoat JSC; Bahodirjon Rahmonov, Deputy Chairman of Uzavtosanoat JSC; and other relevant leaders and specialists from both sectors.
The discussion focused on analyzing and localizing imported chemical products used in the automotive industry. A presentation was delivered at the Cooperation Lab, detailing the annual import volumes of key chemical products, their application in various automotive enterprises, and potential areas for localization.
Following a comprehensive analysis, several project proposals were developed, including:
Two innovative projects valued at $234,400
Five investment projects totaling $5.6 million
Seven diversification projects amounting to $10.75 million
Preliminary calculations indicate that, by 2030, the implementation of 14 such projects could reduce the import volume in the automotive industry by up to $69 million.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish practical cooperation between both sectors in the localization of chemical products. Additionally, proposals were made to enhance scientific and technical collaboration, strengthen intersectoral cooperation, encourage local producers, and expand private sector involvement in these initiatives.
